An outstanding corrosion resistant silver white finish. JS500 provides effective, economical corrosion protection without adversely affecting dimensions.
With .0003" minimum deposit of zinc the finish will provide protection well in excess of 500 hours salt spray life to red rust and will withstand 5 cycles of the Kesternich test.
JS accepts paints and Torcad can provide salt spray resistance in excess of 1500 hours using a suitable combination of JS and organic finish. This also allows the use of colors.
JS may be also used as a substitute for Cadmium when in combination with a solid lubricant embedded in the JS structure, so giving Cadmium's properties of corrosion resistance and lubricity.
JS is non-toxic and may be safely used with food products.
The processing method may introduce hydrogen embrittlement in certain hardened steels. It is the user's responsibility to ensure that Torcad be informed if baking for de-embrittlement is required, and that the baking procedure employed by Torcad meets the customer's requirements. |
